That's why the lemon worked, but not the banana or the turnips, etc., didn't work. Part of the fun of it for us was finding out what did and didn't work, but it helped to stack the deck with several foods we knew would work. Hope you have more fun next time if you try it again! I got the tablets, first one (whole tablet worked it for 3 minutes in coating my tongue, longer than suggested. I tried mustard, no difference. Turnups, not difference. Wine, bitter greens, onion, etc. The only thing was a lemon. I cut a fresh lemon and it worked very well with the lemon. Lime juice from a bottle, no. Lemon juice from a bottle no. Second time ( a week later), I allowed the tablet to coat my tongue for 10 minutes and 5 minutes later I had no better results. I tried all the same things plus "Yager liquor (Jagermaeister)" but wow, no change. I am not impressed at all. Tried a banana but no. Not impressed.
